Holistic Wellness is an approach to health that focuses on the whole person, not just the illness or malady that disrupts the quality of our lives.
All aspects of a person’s needs are taken into account on an emotional, psychological, physical, spiritual, and social level.
Treatment can consist of visiting a practitioner of alternative medicine, or embarking on a personal self-development or spiritual journey.
For our purposes here at The Compassionate Home, we will often refer to the following topics categorized under Holistic Wellness:
- Holistic Nutrition for healing mind, body, and soul.
- Mindful Living, or Present Moments of Being for learning who we are and what makes our lives meaningful
- Experiential Learning and Personal Development for uncovering our passion and purpose
- As well as information on any relative practices in Alternative Medicine that we find beneficial (such as Yoga, Chiropractors, Cranial Sacral Therapy, etc…)
Ultimately, Holistic Wellness is a practice in listening to your intuition, hearing what it is telling you that you need the most, and actively seeking out what serves us in our journey to live our best lives.
