I don’t know about you, but with the new year directly ahead on the horizon I’ve got a whole list of goals and intentions I’d like to set for 2015!
Like many people, I’ve enjoyed the process of setting New Year’s Resolutions tremendously and find that this act of conscious goal setting really does move me forward in terms of both professional success and personal growth. Only, I like my goal/intention setting to be a little more in depth than a simple “I want to lose 25 lbs this year” type of list.
THE BEST guide I have found for setting soulful, life changing goals and intentions is Susannah Conway’s Unravelling the Year Ahead journal!!
Seriously. I’ve been using her journals since 2011!! And this year she’s released an updated version again (Thank you Susannah!!). One of these day’s I’ll have to look back and see how much I’ve grown since that first one 🙂
As part of her process she chooses ONE WORD to represent the year ahead.
You can bet that while my kids are still out of school for winter break I’ll be spending the precious hours of my quiet, early mornings at the kitchen table with a cup of tea mulling over these prompts and digging deep into the desires of my soul.
Until then, I do have my one word:
- (Aristotelian philosophy) The complete realisation and final form of some potential concept or function; the conditions under which a potential thing becomes actualised. [quotations ▼]
- A particular type of motivation, need for self-determination, and inner strength directing life and growth to become all one is capable of being. It is the need to actualize one’s beliefs. It is having a personal vision and being able to actualize that vision from within.
- Something complex that emerges when a large number of simple objects are put together.
This was my word for 2011 and I feel it’s fitting to use it again. Since discovering this word in 2011 I’ve made leaps and bounds in terms of uncovering my soul’s purpose.
It was this word and my internal vision for creating a home that truly nourishes my physical body, mental health, and spiritual wellbeing that birthed The Compassionate Home concept, website, workshops, and endeavors.
And, I can tell you right now, I’m at another crossroads. I know I’m ready, now more than ever, to realize the full capacity of my vision. I’m ready to help others create their own healthy home environment, uncover their true purpose and potential, and actualize their internal dreams and desires.
Are you ready to make 2015 your year of actualization?
If you have time, please take a moment to check out Susannah’s site and download her Unravelling journal!! I absolutely love her photography and the classes she teaches on viewing your life through a new, inspired lens 🙂
And don’t forget to tell me your word for 2015 in the comments below or on the Facebook page!!
Gotta run! I think my daughter is making a fake goldfish bowl with real water and looking for a nifty place to put it (most likely on top of my bookcase!!).
P.S. I’ll be posting my 2014 Year in Review and 2015 announcements/intentions for The Compassionate Home in the next few days. Stay tuned!
