Branch Basics {Review}- A Safer Way to Clean

When I first became aware of the hazards of conventional cleaning products I thought about making all of my own healthy cleaning solutions.

While this can be a fun way to ensure you’re not poisoning the air you breathe with dangerous chemicals–it can be a bit overwhelming if you’re short on time, ingredients, and safe cleaning recipes.

The solution? Branch Basics.

I discovered their company while in the midst of my own home detox–{tossing SEVEN garbage bags full of toxic cleaners!!} that were lurking in my bathroom cabinets, under the kitchen sink, and in my laundry room.

What I LOVE about Branch Basics:

1. It’s SUPER EASY to use! Just pick one of their bottles, fill with water to “water” line on label, add concentrate to “soap” line on label, and shake to mix. Done!

2. It’s 100% PLANT & MINERAL BASED. Their coconut oil, enzymes and fatty acids come from edible, leafy green plants and their baking soda comes straight from the earth.

3. It’s HUMAN SAFE. This means it’s not irritating to eyes, skin, or lungs and not harmful if accidentally ingested.

4. It’s FREE OF SYNTHETICS. This means no fragrance (unless you add one of their Wildcrafted essential oils to the solution), no parabens, preservatives, harmful VOC, SLS, no triclosan, and it’s BPA-free.

5. It’s BIODEGRADABLE. Biodegradable in 30 days or less.

6. It’s CRUELTY-FREE & VEGAN. Which means it’s not tested on animals and is formulated without animal byproducts.

7. It’s NON-GMO! Branch Basics promises to never use genetically-modified ingredients.

8. It’s so VERSATILE!! All you need to do is dilute their concentrate at different ratios and you can use Branch Basics Cleaning Solution for almost anything! As they say on their site: “kitchen counters, toilet seat, mirrors, chocolate stains, and your laundry pile. But don’t let us stifle your creativity! There’s nothing like the thrill of removing a 3 year-old grease stain from your basement carpet or crayon from the wall by the fridge. Put our soap to the test and don’t worry about headaches, ventilation, or gloves! Our food-grade formula won’t dry out your skin and it won’t leave behind a single toxic trace. Happy cleaning!” Get the full details here.

9. Their Packaging is Minimal, Reusable, Recyclable, and BEAUTIFUL! Yes, I am a sucker for pretty packaging. (Must be my graphic design background!!) This packaging goes well beyond beauty, however, and is made to last! I love the canvas bags you can use to store or carry the product, as well as the bottles that can be reused over and over again. The labels are just the cherry on top…beautifully designed and full of info so you never have to pick up a manual or recipe book again!

10. And finally, their WEBSITE IS INCREDIBLE! Well designed, easy to navigate, and chock full of useful articles and resources!! I specifically found their article on choosing a HEPA Vacuum extremely helpful. Plus you’ll want to check out their Official Branch Basics Deep Cleaning Method, their article on DIY non-toxic air fresheners, and their Stainmaster Guide for using Branch Basics for your laundry.
